LAVEEN VILLAGE, AZ – According to CBS 5, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that happened near Loop 202 and W Broadway Rd on Friday.
Christian Rodriguez, 19, was trying to pass in a construction zone when he slammed into another vehicle around 8 p.m.
Rescue crews transported Rodriguez to an area hospital, where he died. The other driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are trying to find out if distraction, speed, or impairment were factors in the collision.
