News: Crews respond to vehicle fire on I-17 in north Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A vehicle fire on I-17 caused major rush-hour delays for drivers in north Phoenix Friday morning, Arizona DoT reports.

The incident took place in the northbound lanes of the interstate near the exit to Cactus Road shortly after 9:30 a.m.

It is unclear at this time what may have sparked the fire. Photos from the scene show multiple right lanes blocked by emergency vehicles with cars getting by slowly in the remining lanes.

We do not know if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the blaze. Should more details come to light, this blog will be updated.
