News: Cement mixer collides with pickup truck near Woodland Heights

MESA, AZ – A woman was hurt after a cement mixer rear-ended her vehicle on US 60 near Val Vista Dr on Tuesday morning, according to AZFamily.

The cement mixer slammed into the back of a pickup truck that was slowing down for traffic congestion around 7 a.m.

An off-duty firefighter and a Chandler police motorcycle officer broke out the truck’s window and pulled the woman out of it.

First responders transported the woman to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Five other vehicles were involved in the chain reaction collision, but nobody else was hurt.

All lanes of traffic were reopened around 8:45 a.m.
