News: Boy, 7, critically hurt in DUI collision in Phoenix 

PHOENIX, AZ – A 7-year-old boy was left in critical condition following a DUI collision that took place at the intersection of West Southern Avenue and South 19th Avenue on Friday night.

Fox10Phoenix said the events unfolded when a male driver, suspected of impairment, crashed his white pickup truck into a Kia car occupied by the boy and his family.

The family said they were on their way to another family’s house when the collision unfolded. EMS crews transported the boy to a hospital, where he continues fighting for his life. His mother claims he will be bound to a wheelchair and will have permanently lost the ability to walk.

Police arrested the male pickup truck driver on suspicion of DUI.
