News: At least 1 injured in collision on I-10 near Tonopah

MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ – Emergency crews were dispatched to an injury crash Thursday morning on Interstate 10 near Tonopah, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The accident took place on the westbound lanes of I-10 (Papago Freeway) at milepost 88, in an area east of the Burnt Well Rest Area, and north of the Mauldin Airstrip. It was first recorded at about 6:52 a.m.

Little information has been made available at this time, but as of 7:36 a.m., more than 40 minutes later, the scene remained in the area.

Officials have not confirmed whether anyone was seriously injured, and it’s unclear how many vehicles were involved.
