MARICOPA, AZ – Approximately 30 students on a school bus were injured in a collision that happened on State Route 347 along milepost 165 on Wednesday.
According to ABC 15, the school bus driver was on a normal route when they crashed. Arizona Department of Public Safety and EMS crews arrived at the scene after 4:45 p.m. Upon arrival, ambulance personnel transported the students to area hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
All students were reunited with their parents and guardians. The bus is affiliated with Stanfield Elementary School District.
Officials have not disclosed the exact cause of the collision, but did confirm that they do not suspect impairment to have been a contributing factor.
A full investigation is underway.
