News: Alleged impaired driver fatally collides with pedestrian near Laurelwood

PHOENIX, AZ – A suspected impaired driver struck and killed a pedestrian near 75th Ave and Thomas Rd on Sunday, according to 12 News.

James Carter, 40, was driving a car with four other occupants when he hit Larry Wheet, 40, as he was crossing the road around 10 p.m.

Rescue crews transported Wheet to an area hospital, where he died.

Authorities charged Carter with Aggravated DUI.
