TUBA CITY, AZ – Three people are dead after an alleged impaired driver crashed head-on with another vehicle on US-89 at milepost 492 on Sunday, according to ABC 15.
A tribal member was driving a pickup truck north on AZ 89 when they went onto the shoulder and began driving north in the southbound lanes, colliding with another vehicle.
Rescue crews pronounced Eduardo Guadalupe Hurtado, 28, Jasmine Alexis Hurtado, 32, and their mother, Michelle Camacho Morales, dead at the scene. Eduardo’s wife, Stephanie, and their 2-year-old son survived the collision.
Following the wreck, authorities arrested the pickup truck driver and charged him with manslaughter.
The FBI is investigating the incident.
