News: 2-car collision kills 1 on East Baseline Rd

PHOENIX, AZ – A 58-year-old man died late Wednesday afternoon after his car collided with another vehicle along a busy roadway in southeast Phoenix, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.

Police say the incident happened just before 5 p.m. on the westbound side of East Baseline Road near South 24th Street.

The investigation indicates that a westbound driver rear-ended a second car that had stopped in traffic near the intersection with South 24th Street.

The driver of the first car died at the scene of the crash. Authorities identified him as George Ybarra.

The driver of the second vehicle went to the hospital with minor injuries.

A full investigation of the crash is underway.
