BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ – One person was significantly injured in a fiery collision that occurred on I-17 North on the outskirts of Black Canyon City on Thursday.
The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. north of Bumble Bee Road, AzFamily reveals. Preliminary details show that a pickup truck driver was going north when they drifted off the freeway, overturned into a ditch, and caught on fire.
The driver, the sole occupant of their vehicle, was left with severe injuries. Officials did not say what caused the driver to leave the road.
Officials blocked off one lane and conducted their investigation on the shoulder. Drivers could still use the left lane, but were likely told to proceed with caution.
