News: 1 hospitalized in Mesa box truck collision

MESA, AZ – The driver of a box truck went to the hospital Saturday after his vehicle struck a light pole and landed in a canal in Mesa, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.

Police say the incident happened just before noon near the intersection of East Main Street and Gilbert Road, which is near the Reed Park neighborhood.

Authorities aren’t sure what caused the driver to crash. Medics transported him to the hospital after extricating him from the vehicle, which had crashed into an irrigation canal. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.

A full investigation of the incident is underway.
