PHOENIX, AZ – According to CBS 5, one person died following a fiery two-vehicle collision near 83rd Ave and Thomas Rd on Friday.
Jesus Martinez-Goan, 21, was driving at excessive speeds west on Thomas Rd when he collided with an eastbound SUV turning onto 83rd Ave around 8:30 p.m.
The collision sent Martinez-Goan’s vehicle crashing into a tree before catching fire.
Emergency crews put out the fire and pronounced Martinez-Goan dead at the scene. The SUV driver was not seriously hurt.
The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the incident.
