PHOENIX, AZ – A 67-year-old man lost his life after he was struck by an SUV in the Thunder Village area on Monday, KTAR said.
The vehicle-pedestrian crash happened in the area of 39th Avenue and Thunderbird Road. Phoenix police said the 67-year-old man, later identified as Santiago Bernardo Ramirez, was walking outside across Thunderbird Road, outside a crosswalk, when he was struck by an eastbound 2015 Dodge Journey.
EMS crews rushed Ramirez to a hospital, where he later died.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and did not suspect impairment from them.
