Man sentenced for deadly DUI crash in Chandler

CHANDLER, AZ – A man has been sentenced to prison for a deadly DUI crash that occurred at S McQueen Rd and Ocotillo Rd on Nov. 27, 2023, according to AZFamily.

Keith James Taylor was driving when he collided with Melinda Epperson, 73, as she crossed the street in a crosswalk.

Taylor fled the scene and eventually abandoned his vehicle after he hit another vehicle.

Officers chased Taylor on foot and arrested him. Authorities determined he was impaired. His BAC was .181, over twice the legal limit.

Taylor pleaded guilty to one count of leaving the scene of a deadly crash and one count of reckless manslaughter. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
