SUN LAKES, AZ – A pedestrian lost their life after getting hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of Alma School and Riggs Roads on Tuesday.
The vehicle-pedestrian crash happened after 8 p.m., AZFamily said. Police determined that the pedestrian was trying to cross on a red light when they were struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck that had the right of way.
The driver could not avoid a crash and ended up striking the pedestrian.
The pedestrian died from their injuries at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene and called 911. Phoenix Police did not say whether the driver was cited or would face citations.
