SOUTH PHOENIX, AZ – Two motorcyclists lost their lives in a shooting and collision incident that happened in South Phoenix on Friday.
According to 12News, the events unfolded before 11 p.m. at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Interstate 17. Two motorcyclists collided and got into a fight. The suspect, 53-year-old Job Martinez, opened fire and shot at 36-year-old Scott Kikes.
A person driving a car saw what unfolded and proceeded to hit Martinez with his car.
Police rushed to the scene. Officers detained the car driver and then released him. EMS crews hurried Martinez and Kikes to a hospital, where they later died.
Martinez succumbed to injuries after being hit by the vehicle, and Kikes died from two gunshot wounds.
A full investigation is underway.
