PHOENIX, AZ – A driver died after he slammed into a tree near N 39th Ave and Thomas Rd on Saturday, according to AZFamily.
Alex Verdugo III, 41, was driving a pickup truck west on Thomas Rd when he strayed off the road and plowed into a tree around 2:30 a.m.
First responders pronounced Verdugo dead at the scene.
It is unclear what caused Verdugo to go off the road.
Crews shut down the area to process the scene.
