News: 1 killed, several injured in collisions involving wrong-way driver in Glendale 

GLENDALE, AZ – One person lost their life, and several were injured in two collisions that occurred on Glendale Avenue on Sunday, according to ABC 15.

The first crash occurred on Glendale Avenue near 57th and 56th Avenues. In this area, a Glendale police officer spotted a wrong-way driver and attempted to pull over the motorist. As the officer attempted a stop, that’s when he collided with a pickup truck.

The pickup truck driver and officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were sent to the hospital.

The second crash involved the wrong-way driver, whom Glendale Police tried to pull over. That wrong-way motorist crashed into another vehicle on Glendale Ave. near 51st Avenue.

One passenger from the struck vehicle died, while the wrong-way motorist and the driver of the struck vehicle suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
