GLENDALE, AZ – A 28-year-old woman was killed in a chain-reaction crash in Glendale on Sunday.
The incident happened on State Route 101 near Cardinals Way. Arizona Department of Public Safety told 12News that a driver of a gray SUV crashed into the back of another vehicle, which resulted in a chain-reaction collision involving more vehicles.
One of the vehicles fled the scene prior to first responders’ arrival.
EMS crews transported six people to a hospital. There, one passenger, Crystal Armenta Moreno, from Tucson, died from her injuries. The five others were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Law enforcement suspect impairment as a contributing factor behind the collision, but have not announced any arrests at this time.
