GILBERT, AZ – A woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Gilbert on Sunday, AZFamily reports.
The collision happened around 2 p.m. on westbound State Route 202 along Higley Road. Law enforcement believes the incident unfolded when a Volkswagen EV experienced mechanical issues and stopped in the middle lane. A second Volkswagen sedan clipped the Volkswagen EV, and the second sedan was then struck by a pickup truck.
The driver of the second Volkswagen died from her injuries at the scene.
The woman’s identity has not been released, and the contributing factors behind the crash remain under investigation.
