PHOENIX, AZ – Arizona Department of Transportation had to shut down a portion of Interstate 17 North following a Thursday morning vehicle collision.
Arizona DOT first announced the crash and closure at 6:28 a.m., saying they blocked off the right lane.

During this time, drivers were still able to pass the scene of the collision, but still experienced some traffic congestion as crews worked to remove the impacted vehicle(s), render aid to the involved occupants, and restore safe road conditions.
Officials reopened all lanes after 7 a.m.
At least two law enforcement vehicles were at the scene of the crash. Officials have not commented on the events leading to the collision or said whether anyone was injured.
