SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Two people were injured in a collision that caused major traffic disruptions along Loop 101 in Scottsdale on Saturday afternoon.
News12 reports the two-vehicle wreck occurred in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Shea Boulevard at about 1 p.m. The Arizona Department of Public Safety said a vehicle that became disabled on the road was struck by another vehicle between Cactus Road and Shea Boulevard.
The two crash victims were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The accident shut down the southbound lanes of Loop 101 at Cactus Road and the Cactus Road on-ramp to Loop 101 southbound while police and emergency crews were responding to the scene. All lanes were not fully reopened until 6 p.m.
