News: 3 hurt in wrong-way collision on I-10 in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – Three people were injured in a wrong-way collision that happened on I-10 Sunday night, ABC 15 said.

The events unfolded after 10 p.m. when one elderly driver tried to make a U-turn. The driver then, for reasons unclear, wound up driving west in the interstate’s eastbound directions. Moments later, the elderly driver struck another vehicle head-on.

The elderly driver and two others sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Impairment was not a factor in Sunday’s crash, and the driver would not face criminal charges. However, the elderly driver was cited.
